2025 District Grants Available

The district is please to offer grant opportunities for 2025.  The description as to what qualifies for a grant is below along with deadlines.  This year, there will be an opportunity for grant applicants to have their grant reviewed prior to final submission.

District grants are designed for local church and district mission programs outside of normal conference and local church funding processes. They are intended to provide funding for innovative programs of tangible and caring outreach that is beyond a local church’s current financial resources. They are for churches of all ethnic groups and should help the church requesting the funding to relate to the ethnic groups within its community. The purpose of these grants is to encourage churches of all ethnic groups to move from an emphasis on self-care to an emphasis on reaching out into the local community in the name of Christ. Please note that these grants are for program expenses and not for building projects.

Grant application review deadline:  If you are interested in having your grant application reviewed prior to final submission in November, please send in your application by September 15, 2024.  This is not required; it is a way the District can assist you in the development of your grant application.  The draft application should be emailed to the District office at threenotchddistrict@vaumc.org

Grant application deadline:  The grant applications are due on November 10, 2024.  They should be emailed to the District office at threenotchddistrict@vaumc.org.  If you have any questions related to the application, please contact Larry Cochran of the District Board of Church Location and Building at (804) 516-9195 or larrycochran@vaumc.org.
