2026 District Mission Grant Application Available Now
Churches may apply for 2026 grants to help with reaching out into the local community in the name of Christ. A district grant application should address at least one of the following: 1) new and innovative ministry to reach out to the unchurched, 2) young adult and college ministries, 3) Hispanic outreach ministries, 4) missions and outreach that address food insecurity.
The regular submission deadline is November 14.

Is God Calling You to Serve in 2026?
At the Three Notch’d District Conference on Sunday, November 23, one agenda item will be voting for 2026 District Leadership. Clergy and/or laity will be elected for three-year terms for the District Leadership Board (DLB) and the District Board on Church Location and Building (DBCLB). The Nomination form for the DLB & DBCLB can be accessed here. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, November 10. Please note that completing a Nominations form does not guarantee a nomination for 2026.
We are also seeking laity to serve as District Lay Members to Annual Conference and attend the 2026 Annual Conference to be held from June 18 to 20 in Harrisonburg, VA. A stipend is provided to help with expenses. The Nomination form for District Lay Members may be accessed here. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, November 10.

We are looking for people who feel called to share their gifts with the District for these important positions. Please pray about this opportunity to serve. These forms are to be completed on an annual basis.
JOINT PREFERENCE FORM
- The Joint Preference form, also known as the S/PPRC and Pastor Annual Recommendation form, is completed by the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee and the Pastor and is due to the District Office by January 1. This indicates to the District Superintendent what the church and pastor desire regarding the upcoming appointment starting in July.
CLERGY EVALUATION
- The Clergy Evaluation is completed by the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee in consultation with the Pastor and is due to the District Office by June 1.
ANNUAL HOUSING ALLOWANCE REVIEW
- If the pastor at your church receives a Housing Allowance, then the Annual Housing Allowance Review is to be completed by the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee and Trustees and submitted to the District Office by June 1.
Annual Parsonage Review
- For churches owning a parsonage, this year’s Annual Parsonage Review must be completed in UnityWeb by June 1. The Staff-Pastor Parish Relations Chair should initiate this process and work with the Trustee Chair and clergy. For questions or assistance regarding completing this form, please contact the District Office, TNDistrict@vaumc.org .

The District Administrator is available Monday – Friday by phone and email 8:30am-4:30pm and in-person one day in the District Office per week (usually Tuesdays). The District Superintendent and Coordinator for Innovations are available by appointment only.

A monthly district newsletter is distributed by email the first Wednesday of each month. Articles and pictures may be submitted to TNDistrict@vaumc.org by the last Friday of each month for the following month’s newsletter. The current newsletter is accessible on this website under Resources.

UnityWeb is the Virginia Conference’s database system and is used to connect local churches, districts, and conference people and structures. It was launched in January 2023 and replaced the EVC system.
